Sunday night lights!
Superbowl Champions! The Dolphins beat the Cardinals (It was hard for us not to wear Cardinal gear on Sunday) for the second week in a row to secure the JAYF 4th and 5th grade league champs and the SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!
Final record was 8-0. Undefeated. And good thing, because coach told the boys last week that second sucks! The last few plays were fun, trying to score some boys who wouldn't normally and a trick play that made everyone chuckle. Coach brings one of the boys in on offense and as they set up he starts yelling his name. All focus on coach and this poor kid, when our quarterback huts the ball and goes...almost. It would have worked but a fumble occurs and we lost the ball. The boys call it the "Dillon sleeper", after the kid who takes a yelling for the team and the boys LOVE this play.
They played under the lights on the big High School Field. The stands were full with parents, friends and families. I was amazed at just how many other players and their parents were there to cheer us on! It was awesome. And yes, Aunt Carla....."the clapping yelling no stop lady was there too!"
The funny of the night came as one of our buddies Mom's made a run through paper Dophin sign. I helped hold it as the boys ran through. Too bad as soon as he runs through, 1st man. He crashes through takes the paper and my hand with it on on side. The triangle flies with only his mom holding one and and he topples over. I am just thankful he didn't break is ankle...
I was saved by the camera man. He was focused on his son, coming up next and missed this display, surely a shoe-in for "funniest home video". I have a badly bruised wrist as my battle scar!
We ended up at a local bar and grill where the boys donated a signed team photo to brag about for years to come. They even allowed us to hook up the video to the big screen TV and watch the action as we celebrated. A great time was had by all!

Proud to be from Morris.
I will not gloat or say "I told you so", but I will walk around smiling for the next few days knowing WE (again with the WE, Cardinals and the ONE house) are the CHAMPIONS.
It was a fabulous night for people from Morris last night.
Congrats go out to Scott Spiezio of course...
But also in HS football!
Morris beat Joliet Catholic again!
A big win in the play-offs
a huge "Morris" win!
Congrats Drew!

Bring on the RAIN, just let us play!
Blogger is broke...sorry no pictures of blankies, Stone and Jacque, and of course CARDINAL BASEBALL today as planned
Post with out pictures:
Even when the Sup is cold.....(had to do it, everyone else is)
"little" David (as we call him) came through to show the Tigers just that!
Who knew the rain would help?
And best of all I get to watch game 5 with my hubby! He comes home today, YEAH!
I did get news that my Godson, and cousin was present in Detriot last weekend at both games. I have to admit I felt a little ill at first. I did force myself to feel an emotion close to happy for him. ENVY is bad and I fought it best I could!
Since the Cardinals are not all that goes on here....surpised....I know....it is hard to focus on other things, but the kids need to eat, bathe, and all that other stuff....
In fact Dante came home from school this week with Lucy's beloved blanket. When there, she put it down to grab the secretaries Mickey Mouse cup, and left it.
Then last night after finding it and it is missing again. I call a few stores we visitied, with no luck. I started asking her about it at football, hopefully triggering her memory. Stone interrupts by falling and dropping a bunch of homemade cookies followed by crying, when Lucy points and yells....MY BLANKIE. And yup there is was, soaking wet, 2 days later in the mud under a tree. How do these things happen? Just when I think I might buy a Mustang, pack of cigarettes, and some whiskey...

Fall party (missed), cell phones, cookies, Cardinals (Jeff Suppan), and rain
Would you like to see how much fun Stone had at his Fall party? So would I! My job as a Mom...not so great! I did NOT write down the date for his fall party on the calendar and missed it. I thought it was next week. I LOVE these parties. I don't miss these parties, but I did. I found out when picking him up from school on Wed. when his teacher asked if we were okay, since we missed. I was not just sad, I was devistated. I really truely felt my whole body heavy with sorrow and held back tears. He went on and on and even had to call his Daddy (who could not answer), so we tried Grandma...
I call the programmed MOM in my phone, being my MOM....grandma Sandy so he can tell her. Someone answers and he gives details of the pumpkin game, treat or treating, the chocolate cake with orange and yellow sprinkles, and more... about a 5 minute rendition of his fabulous day! The lady on the phone, I could hear talking back with enthusiam, but I could tell it was not my Mom. I finally get the phone and she says..."He sure was excited. Sounds like you all are doing good." Then, " I am heading into a dead spot". I thought it was a friend of my Mom's but when calling my Mom back to see if she was okay....nope. And my phone said MOM. It made a real funny buzz noise when I hung up, so I can only assume signals crossed or something.
Not only did I miss the party, but some stranger (nice though) lady got to hear about it first hand. He is only going to tell a story once with that much detail and excitement!
I made homemade cookies out of guilt. He loves cookies with chocolate.
Rain, rain, rain...holding up not only my new home construction but game 4 which really adds to my mood of being a bad Mom. If and I say IF we have to play a game 7 Suppan can't throw because we lost an off day to the rain yesterday. Suppan is my favorite for many reasons. He came in as just a picher, and Duncan waved his coaching wand over him and made him an incredible pitcher. His talent has grown with control and a variety of pitches. I respect and admire how he prepares for games and lives for each moment. He gives great interviews, always passing compliments and credits to other players! He also is a strong Christian. Bet not many of you knew that. In fact I caught him on one of our local...(usually nutty channels) talking about how he uses his faith on the field. It was a great interview. He talked of how it is not commonly spoken amongst the guys, but still plays a central role in the grand scheme of things. He not only has grace but talent! Besides,I love his smile, along with Jimmy and Yadi of course!
Rain is still falling today.... Has anyone ever seen Bill Murray in "Ground Hog's Day"?

Cardinals 2 Tigers 1....Game 4!
It is good to feel safe in falling asleep in the 8th inning. Then waking up to interviews of winning players such as Albert!
On to game 4! Suppan pitching, Molina catching, Jimmy in center....
Seems the Dolphins hired a spy! On review of Stone's pictures I
realized this is the Cardinals. Not St. Louis.....
The team we played Saturday and will play again for the big SuperBowl! Sneaky isn't he?
Can someone, anyone explain why the larger cracker is better then the smaller one. Notice how he even seperates them in the container. Stone has now convinced Lucy that a broken cracker is BAD! Just because it is broken in half ..... This causes many problems, especially when only one "better" cracker is left. Oh how I love dealing with a sensory "stubborn" child(ren)!

It is a good thing we are at Game 3 day!
A pretty rough idea of how pictures went this morning as well as yesterday afternoon. JCPenney does such a great job here. I LOVE the staff and the pictures!
I can't hold my excitment in and keep these a Secret Until they are ready.
Bart knew I was getting pictures done, but there were a few added touches....like me! Finally the annual kids' Cardinals photos. I did not not do a good job getting them in during the regular season, which is probably why WE (Yes I did say WE, as in the Cardinal ballclub and the ONE house!) did make it to post season/WORLD SERIES! I then had an idea. Bart needs a desk picture, so I hopped in on a few. I would like for him to see me everyday at his desk too and in Cardinals' attire. It is the way he likes me best! I also wanted to try to get me and Lucy from behind since we were the only ones with numbers and names on the back. (Still praying for an Edmonds payout) Boy did this turn out cute. I couldn't resist getting the one with her one eye peeking around. Of course you can't see it too well, but the real thing is adorable! Pictures were a success.
Stone had "Snappy" for his 5 year old pictures. I am not ready to talk about the 5 yet. I am real excited for these. He was wearing black on a black background. Always a hard choice and I end up calling back and changing. I am glad the portrait staff is patient with me. Lucy snuck in a couple just so I could have 3 pictures (One of each) that will look good on the wall. Here she is in yellow with yellow background. And of course with "the blanket". Dante goes in friday with his football gear to complete the set with red on red.
Game 3. Back on home ground. I will unfortunately be sitting alone in my living room. Bart did not surprise me (YET) with tickets. He did leave me for a few days.
I only worry we will be seperated for the game 5 grand finally. (Cardinal WIN of course!) It is fun to watch the Cardinals win, but I think watching him do the victory dance makes it even funner.
But I will be watching them on a new big TV. Ever since my Johnny Depp interview scandal, I have been wanting a new TV.
I finally had a garage sale with some friends and made me some TV money.
It may be small to you, but for me.....it is gigantic!
I also bought a gentle used sectional(from a friend's Mom) and nice rug too! The basement is wonderful. It is HUGE and a playland for the kids.
Notice Jacque the Cat....she likes the new furniture and rug too. She hides under it and jumps out at you. Even 2 days after surgery.
Lucy has on her new "Cardinal" socks, too!
What is there to talk about on an OFF day?
Looking through Stone's photo's this one hit me as interesting. Of course so did the close up of his milk (white), the 30 pictures he took at Sunday School, and of course the 3 of his bus driver and helper.
This picture is of our computer area. You see the mouse...which sits on a "Mission to the Planets" book from my college days.
Stone's calendar his class made. October he sits with a plastic orange pumpkin. Each month is seasonal and STONE. Extremely creative and cute. A lifetime treasure!
My Paris scrapbook sits there to remind me that dreams do come true.
Our Cardinal Baseball ragdoll. This was intentionally bought for Lucy but is now our Mascot by the computer. (Guess she took last night off!) One of the Faith and Family pillows from AtHome America. (Anyone want to book a HomeShow?)
The hair brush is there and this darn thing never is in the same spot. Always a pain when trying brush a two year old's pretty blond hair, who hates it with a passion. Finally catch her ....and you can't locate the brush. Why is it on the computer table? Who knows.
The St. Paul directory was delivered about a month ago still sits in the cubby. There is a todo list....I should be working on.
The crystal picture frame that you only see 1/2 of ....is a heart capturing me and Bart a week or so after we met at a reception in Morris. We were young, wild, in love, and had no idea what was ahead in our future. I love to be reminded of this time, as well as see how much we have accomplished.
A little picture....with so much to say.
Besides it is on OFF day for the Cardinals and Rogers kinda made me not want to talk much about last night's game. What was that on his hand though?
-Dolphins (Dante's team) go undefeated and beat the now defeated Cardinals. He scores another touchdown. Drops the ball...made some tackles.
-Jacque the Cat is back to normal...and pulled out a set of her stitches.
-laundry, lots and lots of laundry
-Oh..... and a injury that scared the breath out of me. Dante on the traveling team runs and gets about 10 yards for a 1st down. I did see this clapped and smiled very big and play resumes. A few minutes later though he is brought to me (doing concession with the 2 little ones. Don't ask how that works....it doesn't.) crying and holding is arm.
End result....we think he is okay, but coach called asking for no x-rays until after superbowl game next week. He can move it, he held a ball, played video games....but still needed it wrapped for school....go figure!

before and after
Dante plays and he plays hard. I clean and I clean hard! Poor kid looks like he doesn't play at all when he shows up with such gleaming white pants....WE KNOW BETTER!
I just thougt I would throw in another before/after I made!
This is the postcard I sent out for Kate's fall postcard exchange...I just wanted everyone to know Missouri in the fall by CARDINAL baseball!

Yadier, Jimmy, Jeff...my 3 favorite men!
And once again, my hubby is okay with me talking about other men, because they are CARDINALS!
It was him who had butterflies before the game even started....it was him who was on his feet the whole last inning..... It was him who had a tear in his eye during celebration (I was just flat out crying)... it was him who ran who around the house after Wainwright's final strike...and it was him who was talking of World Series tickets.
I have continuously talked about Molina this series and how he could pull through with the bats. I also had just finished my cheer of encouragment to Suppan (who has been my favorite pitcher for some time) to throw the ball into the "cutie's" glove. A girl can love baseball and still be girlie, YES? Then Yadier gets up and .....WOW!
I of course always knew Jimmy would be there to lift up his team...(Man will I be sad next year if the Cardinals ball club doesn't spend some money!) And the photo gallery finds him looking really good!
And Rolen....saved grace during each and every interview. Sure he was robbed and man did Endy make a catch, but he also threw the ball 20 feet over Albert's head.
We especially liked the one where he spoke in third person about number 27 having a bad inning.
What more can I say but the ride is not over. Tigers...watch out!

All in ONE day!
Yesterday I felt like the Sonic commercial guy. When he is eating his ice cream and he tells his wife he is going to have to "blog" this. And then she makes fun of him by saying so all of his one reader(s) can read it.....your MOM. He gets defensive and tells her his MOM told her neighbor about it too.... Oh, and click here for about 12 hours+ of laughs. It is a Sonic thing.
Anyway, makes me laugh. I kept thinking I have to "blog" this!
We wake up early and it is raining. BAD news for cement walls on the new home. Poor Jacque the Cat follows me around meowing because she wants to eat and can't. We take her to the vet to get spayed. She actually sat on the dash board 30 miles to the vet's office, alas no camera!
Then off to the dentist for Lucy's 4 cavities. Okay, so I am not the best oral hygene mom, but I am learning. APPLE JUICE BAD! We are now off sippy cups! We drink water at night!
She had 2 crowns, 2 fillings and 4 sealants. She Screamed and Screamed. I was in the waiting room with tears just falling out of my eyes! This dentist office pefers no parents back in the room except on first visits. Which I like. No, I am not nuts. My kids behave better when I am not right there. They can not turn to Mommy to HELP under what is only an uncomfortable situation. I was let in the room (special situation, I guess) and then left unnoticed mostly because I was given the hush and keep him quite (Stone) mouthing from the dentist as she worked to fix Lucy and calm her down. Lucy was not in her "fear mode". She was just not liking it. Me neither, but had to be done! 5 stickers and lots of money later...we head to McDonalds for comfort.
Stone ruins it with his inability to use the bathroom until you make him. It wasn't too bad, but I had to take him to school, so home we went to clean up. Lucy aslo drippled chocolate milk all down her CARDINALS shirt because she was still numb.
Then I get a call from a cousin....the eye doctor says her little man (4 years old just like Stone) needs glasses too. Stone's (and now Brent's) eye doctor says ...."if you have anymore of these (meaning related children) bring them in". She said I know Lucy is okay, but....
I get Bart's errands done. Find the neatest dish towels for my ladies who are an awesome support through my weight loss. I search for pants (CARDINALS) similar to Joe's for Bart, but came up with nothing. I make the yummy buffalo cheeesy chicken dip for the big game later (came out runny) and take Dante to football, with Lucy cause she LOVES me.
Football was interesting. BIG GAME saturday the last two undefeated teams match off. I love the plays and team work. This coach is awesome and has each man knowing, understanding, and dreaming of his role in each play to make it work. Each team member is given a job, and is important in every play! The fog rolled in and out. The boys looked spooky practicing in it. Dante is has a couple new plays that involve passing the ball. He LOVES it! I tried to take some pictures of the boys in the fog under the lights. Even if it isn't clear, I still think it is pretty neat. I am not sure which one Dante is, but know he is one of the last few on the left.
I turn on the radio to hear the score of the Cardinals and a DARN homerun is hit at the same exact moment. Needless to say the result was not favorable either.
TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! Please don't call, or expect to hear from us at the ONE house after about 7:00! It is a big night! I don't want to explain why.....YOU SHOULD KNOW!

I decided this year to help you all out with the kids' wish list and post it here. I only expect this to be help and do not mean to imply that only these things will do by any means.

Toes
Family from afar came to see Dante score 2 touchdowns this week. The kids all fell in love with JOE. It was JOE this and JOE that. Even Bart had to eat what JOE was eating. Lucy's new boyfriend is JOE. Who needs a MOM (to throw the football with) when you have a JOE. Thank goodness JOE was a good sport and awesome with the kids! I would hate to be the one to cause him to run. GOOD pick Kels.
Stone even included Joe in his nightly prayers. Last night Kelsey was included....as well as Frozen and Mr. Incredible. That is bigtime to be included with this duo!
Once again, Stone was "cheesing" (taking pictures) of anything and everything. There were a lot of JOE and then he also made us all take off our socks so he could "cheese" our toes.
The game here is to see if you can guess who's toes belong to who?

While waiting for Kate and the Cardinals...A tale of China
Waiting for the Cardinals to kick some Padre butt I came across an awesome documentary on China. It was relatively new too. In fact I kept watching it instead of the first few innings of the cardinals...Crazy, I know!
It is a must have/must see for those in our world of adoption from China...fellow waiting families, families who have been there to bring home their child(ren), family, and friends. It did not focus on adoption at all but more about the pride the Chinese men and expecially women have of their country. It talked of changes and time held traditions. It was enlightening and the little gymnast stole Dante and I's heart. To think the possibility of me seeing her actually perform in Beijing...(if she made the Chinese Olympic team) isn't out of the question. The 2008 Olympics will take place in Beijing and with wait times increasing....
I also found this site that is about CHINA. Kate is getting closer and closer. One day at a time!
We (the whole family) has taken to the Mongolian grill in town. 2 times in one week....Odd for us to eat out at all let alone 2 times. We even gave the chopsticks a whirl. I am getting pretty good and was confident to use them in public. Dante tries and is improving. Bart started his meal with them and once I was finally able to get my plate, he switched to the fork and upon my return was back using chopsticks. Isn't he tricky? He can use them pretty well, but you just can't get as much food with two sticks.

African Grasslands
This week was partly focused on Dante's first school project. It was a model of an ecosystem. He actually made two. The first one he was not happy with the detail and wanted it to be GREAT! So with a little grass and some animals from Sarah, some help from the MOM....here is his African Grasslands.
Notice Jacque the Cat....We could not get her to sit still as part of the model, though!

HIGH SPEED INTERNET ROCKS!
Thanks to Gary "the cable guy" and his sidekick....WE won the war!
Honorable mention goes out to Aaron from Minnisota at costumer support. The computer is fast and steady! A new modem and some more power on the pole...(Really that is what they said!) and I have highspeed internet back. Sure beats the nothing and 5 minute waits!
But the robot lady at costumer service about had some reprogramming. I said "AGENT" to bypass her ...because I have talked to these people a lot and know what I kinda need and that the problem is beyond her capability. She had the nerve to tell me, "I understand you would like an Agent, BUT I think we can handle this on our own."
Can you believe it. The foreign lady who I got was not much better telling me there was an outage and to call back in 3 hours. 3 hours later, I got Aaron who says there has not been an outage...and fixes me up for an appointment with Gary!
Yeah to these men that have improved our lives beyond comprehension!
I am back......look out!

Cinnamon
What happens over a week time at the ONE house....I already did that once and you all know that anything can happen. So here is my biggest surprise I walked in on. I first though I smelled my AtHome AMERICA cinnamon candle as I walked into the kitchen from doing laundry . Then I saw Lucy! The table, bench (as you see from photos), windowsill, floor, and even cat were adorned with ground cinnamon and sugar. A mixture I use on one of thier favorite breakfasts. I had left it on the counter after making Dante's and well...the rest is history.
