Won't you be my neighbor.

Potty training…Lucy and I just caught Mr. Rodgers’ signing in his bathroom. If it wasn’t disturbing enough to hear him signing (mistake...he was singing) about going potty while holding a little doll, he was actually in his bathroom that had a 70’s green toilet and sink. When was the last time anyone saw sink and toilet that color? Hold on though, Lucy was mesmerized by it! I was torn….laugh, cry, scream at her to look away, or give thanks that she is interested in anything “potty” related! Before I knew it, he was done signing…he’d flushed the toilet to show that it wasn’t scary…..Yeah, right, I was scared, and was going out to play make-believe. Lucy still sits there with her mouth open pulled deep into the neighborhood of make believe. This wore off soon after make believe started, thank goodness, I was worried I would have to go in after her. I loved Mr. Rodger’s as a kid, how is this possible? He is kinda spooky, okay VERY spooky. Yet he caught my attention and my almost 2 year old’s for over 15 minutes.
It gets even better! There is actually a tribute CD made from his songs from artists like Amy Grant (a favorite of mine), Crystal Gayle, and Jon Secada. AND a potty book with pictures of kids on the potty. I was really tempted to buy me one, just to see it. (NO, Bart, I didn’t. Not in the budget!)

My troubled times were soon replaced by the Olson Twins playing Michelle on the show Full House. I really am not a fan of this show, but Lucy seems to like the bad acting! I laughed at my age as D.J gave back items to her friend Kimmie, such as leg warmers, Banana Rama and Bangles tapes, and a fanny pack. Only in the 80’s could you get away with stuff like this. I once had hair just like DJ too!

I’m just really happy Stone came home from school and saved us all by playing Mario for 4 hours straight. (not really, but he would of if I would let him!) This is THE ACTION kick that he does while he plays!!!! He gets more excercise playing video games then most kids get playing outside! My mom can attest to getting kicked a few times. It comes out of nowhere!
