The Lord is my Shepherd...
3 years ago today my Grandpa was called Home! This used to be the saddest thought and day of my life. I still miss him, but now I realize where he is and that I will see him again in perfect paradise. He was a man of many strengths. Here are just a few memories I wanted to share for those of you who also knew him, and if you didn't you would have liked him.
How many teeth did he pull with his pliers?
The way my brother and I used to argue back and forth with him about how Amen was pronounced.
How he used to eat spaghettiOs and hotdogs everyday with us with out complaining.
His chair in the living room.
I remember the inside of his brown truck for some reason and the smell of corn.
I am lucky enough to have many refinished pieces of furniture that he did with this skillful and large hands.
How he was usually there at every game you played...basketball, baseball, you name it. One of the grandkids even got money for home runs...Drew!
I loved my grandpa and wish he were here to tell me about "the good old days". But someday I know we'll have that time. And I am sure he would have loved to meet Lucy, Sunshine, and new baby Gracie. I can only have faith that he is watching over us, protecting us.
If anything with the help from Grandma they taught me this:
Paslm 23
The LORD Is My Shepherd
23The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
